TEATRO TRANSFORMADOR

Is an independent theatre production company based in Costa Rica with local and international connections.

We believe that theatre holds many keys to the health of the individual and the community and are committed to sharing these in forms accessible and engaging to as many people as possible. We offer high quality, professional theatrical experiences that challenge the mind, open the heart and help to create a more empathetic and compassionate world.

We do this by:

Producing and creating stimulating theatrical experiences based in classics, modern works, and experimental original creations for the benefit of the community.

Offering storytelling and poetry events, film nights, a new small play festival, dance and music events.

Combining an Educational component in the programming:

Once a year we plan to include a play that is required by the school board and encourage field trips by students to the theatre.

Various training opportunities in theatre will be introduced for personal and professional development:

Classes, both in English and Spanish, in acting, story theatre, physical theatre, voice and improv, public speaking, communication, healing, conflict resolution, and teacher training.

Workshops, retreats (lasting 1 to 7 days) and site specific performances are offered in natural settings that allow for an immersive experience for the participants/audience.

Occasionally special “field trips” will be presented which take the public to special locations for memorable theatrical experiences.

These will be made available to the general public, business professionals, entrepreneurs and teachers to promote leadership, community development and collaboration.
