Jeff Burnett on Broadway

As a result of a promise made to his father on his deathbed, Jesai Jayhmes aka Jeff Burnett embarks on a journey to realize a promise to perform on Broadway in his family name.

The imaginative theatrical experience takes the form of a multi-media, multi-layered interactive event in which the audience are witnesses, co-conspirators, auditionees, and even a chorus exploring how our ancestors live through us.

It is comedic, imagistic, surreal, musical, dramatic, moving and at times metaphysical (directed by Jim Ennis), Lighting, (by Jamie Burnett) is simply stunning and video projections (shot by Bruce Jaffe) add to the magic. The show is thoroughly engaging, skillfully executed, creatively stimulating. With authenticity and vulnerability it takes a backside look at the profession and the theatre art form. It has moments of touching poetry of love and loss.

There are stages in our lives when we are pulled towards something and others when we are driven away. What can seem like helter skelter chaos can in fact lead to sense, purpose, beauty and destiny just around the corner.

If Part 1 is anything to go on, Part 2 and 3 promise to go for the gold.
